Course description and benefits
This two-week intensive international course is aimed to give labour and union officials an in-depth professional insight into globalisation and emerging labour/organization issues. This will be done through a combination of exclusive systems, including awareness raising, research, presentation, policy development, and practical actions such as tailored learning workshops. Participants will improve their professional effectiveness through strategic planning and management. They will write and produce appropriate guidelines for other union/labour officials.

Course outcomes

- Know new media ways to get the union mes-sage to both members and government.
- Understand how to plan successful union campaigns, including strikes.
- Recognize the importance of evaluation in trade unionism.
Course format
The course is a combination of classroom time and learning workshops. Classroom sessions are intensive and participative and will include a variety of approaches such as lectures, group discussions and practical exercises. A number of guest lecturers will also make presentations, aiding the overall learning experience.
